London, UK: RunThrough, the UK’s largest and Europe’s fastest-growing running events company, on Sunday 17th November hosted an incredible 4,000 runners for the return of the Fulham 10k, presented by Vitamin Well. The iconic route took runners through the heart of Fulham along the Fulham Road, New King’s Road, Munster Road as well as running around the world famous Stamford Bridge Stadium, home of Chelsea FC.

The Fulham 10k also marked the penultimate race of the year in the Top Flight Elite Series, a £60,000 race series supporting grassroots athletics that rewards exceptional performances with event and series prize money and recognition. The Fulham 10k firmly established itself as one of the fastest 10ks in London as well as the country with Omar Ahmed winning the men’s race in a rapid time of 28:58 and earning the maximum 25 points. In an equally impressive performance, Transfora Ngimbudzi won in a lightning fast 31:53, also scoring the maximum 25 series points.

The event also supported CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the event’s Charity of the Year. CW+ had a 55 person strong team all running to support the crucial work they do and the charity also had a cheer point on course keeping the energy high for all runners. On the day, £11,000 had already been raised but were confident that they would exceed their £15,000 fundraising target.

Community groups and running clubs turned out in force, creating an incredible community atmosphere. Some of the standout communities and clubs that showed up in force included; local Fulham Running Club, Alpine Run Project, Black Girls Do Run UK, REP Runners, SheRuns and Fund Her Tri to name just a few.

RunThrough’s Co-Founder, Matt Wood, said: “To see this event come together and 4,000 people running on the streets of Fulham for such a major event fills me with so much pride. When my co-founder, Ben Green, and I started RunThrough over 10 years ago, just the two of us running around like crazy in Bushy Park, we could only have imagined being at the point where we could deliver an event of this scale. It is a testament to the hard work of the entire team! I must extend my thanks to the local council and all stakeholders for working with us and putting their trust in us to deliver what we knew we were capable of. We couldn’t be happier with the response from runners to the event and to have the male and female winners break 29 minutes and 32 minutes respectively was just the icing on the cake!”

With today’s success, the Fulham 10k looks set to become a staple in the London running calendar, with the 2025 date to be announced very soon. Still to come in 2024 is the RunThrough Foundation RunThrough LONDON TEN, Presented by ASICS which will be the city’s first ever free-to-enter, road closed event which is focused on celebrating diversity in running.
