What an action-packed week it’s been at RunThrough! From picturesque parks to iconic landmarks, runners came out in force to take on a variety of challenges. Here’s a look back at all the excitement from last week’s events.
25th September – Gateley Chase The Sun Battersea Park 5k & 10k
We kicked off the week in style with the Gateley Chase The Sun at Battersea Park. This midweek race is always a favourite, with its flat, fast course providing the perfect opportunity for PBs. Runners soaked in the stunning surroundings as they raced against the setting sun, capping off their day with a fantastic evening run.
26th September – Run Media City 5k & 10k
Thursday took us to the vibrant Media City in Salford, where runners took on the 5k and 10k distances. With its modern backdrop and lively atmosphere, this event is always a great way to push your pace. The flat course along the waterside proved ideal for those chasing fast times, while others simply enjoyed the scenic evening run through one of the UK’s most iconic media hubs.
28th September – Hyde Park 5k & 10k – SOLD OUT
Saturday’s Hyde Park 5k & 10k was completely SOLD OUT, and it’s easy to see why! Runners were treated to beautiful autumnal weather and one of London’s most stunning park routes. With its mix of wide open paths and scenic views, Hyde Park is the perfect spot for runners of all abilities.
29th September – Run Kent Tonbridge Half Marathon, 10k & 5k
Sunday was a huge day, kicking off with the Run Kent Tonbridge Half Marathon, 10k & 5k. This scenic event took runners through the beautiful Kent countryside, offering everything from rolling hills to quiet, closed roads. With the New York Bakery Co. as the presenting partner, participants enjoyed not only a fantastic race but a great atmosphere that celebrated both fitness and community. Dame Kelly Holmes also graced the event by setting off runners from the start line and handing out medals at the finish!
29th September – Humber Bridge Half Marathon
At the same time, runners were taking on the Humber Bridge Half Marathon, where they crossed one of the UK’s most famous landmarks. With an undulating route and breathtaking views over the Humber River, this race was as challenging as it was rewarding.
29th September – RunThrough Trails Wimbledon Common Half Marathon & 10k
Over at Wimbledon Common, runners took to the trails for the Half Marathon and 10k. Known for its mix of wooded paths and wide-open spaces, this event offered a fantastic off-road experience just outside central London. The peaceful, nature-filled setting helped runners stay focused as they worked through the challenging yet enjoyable course.
29th September – Run Aintree 5k, 10k & Half Marathon
We wrapped up the weekend at Run Aintree, where runners tackled the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon distances around the iconic Aintree Racecourse. With its flat, smooth surface and the thrill of running on the famous course, this event was a hit for everyone, from first-time runners to seasoned athletes.
A Week of Amazing Achievements
From sunset sprints in Battersea to scenic countryside runs in Kent and bridge crossings at Humber, last week’s events offered something for every runner. Whether you were chasing a PB or just soaking up the atmosphere, it was an incredible week of racing.
