As we look back on another exciting week of RunThrough events, we’re reminded of the incredible energy and spirit that our runners bring to each race. From the scenic paths of Tatton Park to the fast-paced streets of Mansfield, it’s been a week full of achievements, personal bests, and community support. Here’s a look back at the highlights:
7th September – Tatton Park 5k and 10k
We started the weekend at the picturesque Tatton Park, where runners took on the 5k and 10k courses amidst stunning Cheshire countryside. The flat and fast route made it a perfect day for those chasing personal bests, while the beautiful park setting provided an inspiring backdrop for everyone involved. With a great mix of new faces and seasoned runners, Tatton Park once again delivered a race to remember, with plenty of smiles at the finish line.
7th September – Battersea Park Half Marathon
Meanwhile, in London, runners were out in force at the Battersea Park Half Marathon. Known for its flat, looped course, this event saw participants take advantage of the ideal conditions to push for fast times. The support from fellow runners and the vibrant atmosphere made it a memorable day in one of London’s most iconic parks. Whether chasing a PB or taking on their first half marathon, participants showed determination and grit from start to finish.
8th September – Surrey Half Marathon, presented by Nuun Hydration
Sunday brought us to the highly anticipated Surrey Half Marathon, presented by Nuun Hydration. This flagship event is a favourite in the RunThrough calendar, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! With the fast and scenic course winding through Woking and the surrounding countryside, runners were treated to beautiful views and cheering spectators along the way. The addition of a 5k and 2k kids race made it a family-friendly event, with runners of all ages enjoying the day. The post-race atmosphere was electric, with live music, Nuun hydration stations, and plenty of celebrations for the runners who conquered their goals.
8th September – Mansfield 10k, in partnership with Mansfield District Council
Also on Sunday, we headed to Nottinghamshire for the Mansfield 10k, organised in partnership with Mansfield District Council. The closed-road course took runners through the heart of Mansfield, offering a mix of urban and scenic views. The local community turned out in full force to support the runners, creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the race. Whether it was their first 10k or they were chasing a new PB, participants enjoyed the energy and support that made this event one of the highlights of the week.
8th September – Tri Reigate Sprint Triathlon
For those looking to mix things up, the Tri Reigate Sprint Triathlon offered an exhilarating challenge. Athletes started with a 750m open water swim in Buckland Park Lake, followed by a 20km bike ride through scenic country lanes, and finished with a 5km run around the picturesque lake. The mix of disciplines and the beautiful Reigate setting made this event one for the books. Whether participants were seasoned triathletes or taking on their first triathlon, the camaraderie and support along the course made for an unforgettable experience.
