As we moved further into September, the RunThrough calendar was packed with exciting events across the UK, offering something for everyone—from scenic water-side runs to vibrant city races. Whether runners were chasing a PB, enjoying a family day out, or tackling a new challenge, last week’s events provided the perfect way to stay active and inspired. Here’s a look back at what happened:

 

14th September – Draycote Water 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon

The weekend kicked off with a beautiful race at the stunning Draycote Water. With distances ranging from 5k to Half Marathon, this event catered to runners of all levels. The looped course around the reservoir offered breathtaking views and a flat, fast route, ideal for those chasing personal bests or simply soaking in the scenic surroundings. Whether runners were seasoned or tackling their first race, Draycote Water left everyone feeling refreshed and motivated.

 

14th September – Greenwich Park 5k, 10k, and Junior Race

Also on Saturday, we headed to one of London’s most iconic parks for the Greenwich Park 5k, 10k, and Junior Race. Known for its beautiful views and challenging hills, this race offered something special for everyone. The 5k and 10k routes provided picturesque courses with a touch of challenge, while the Junior Race was a fantastic opportunity for younger runners to get involved and have fun. The support from the crowds and the historic setting made this race one to remember.

 

15th September – Run Heaton Park 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon

On Sunday, we made our way to the North West for Run Heaton Park. This popular event featured 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon distances, set against the backdrop of one of Manchester’s most famous parks. With its mix of open fields, wooded trails, and iconic landmarks, Heaton Park delivered a unique and enjoyable race experience. Whether runners were taking on the 5k or powering through the Half Marathon, the supportive atmosphere and stunning surroundings kept everyone going from start to finish.

 

15th September – Dartford Half Marathon

Sunday also brought us to Dartford, where participants tackled the Dartford Half Marathon. This challenging yet rewarding course took runners through the picturesque Kent countryside, offering plenty of variety and stunning views. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and local support, the Dartford Half Marathon proved to be a fantastic event for both experienced runners and those looking to push themselves over the 13.1-mile distance.

 

15th September – Birmingham Running Festival

Rounding out the weekend, we headed to the Midlands for the Birmingham Running Festival. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Sutton Park, this event offered 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon distances, making it the ideal race for runners of all abilities. With its flat, fast course and supportive festival atmosphere, the Birmingham Running Festival provided an unforgettable race day experience, perfect for personal challenges or celebrating achievements with friends.
