August 31st – Newbury Racecourse Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k
This Saturday, August 31st, we’re thrilled to bring you the Newbury Racecourse event, a highlight in our calendar that combines speed, scenery, and the thrill of running at one of Britain’s most prestigious horseracing venues. The flat and fast course is perfect for those looking to set a new personal best, with multiple laps around the racecourse circuit offering a controlled and enjoyable race environment.
- 5k: One lap around the racecourse, ideal for beginners or those looking for a quick, satisfying run.
- 10k: Two laps, providing a bit more of a challenge while still keeping things fast and exciting.
- Half Marathon: Four laps, giving long-distance runners the chance to push their endurance while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or new to the sport, this event offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the excitement of racing at Newbury Racecourse. With registration still open, there’s time to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable day of running.
September 1st – Altrincham 10k
The following day, on Sunday, September 1st, the Altrincham 10k returns for its third annual running. This event has quickly become a favourite in the North West, drawing 2,500 runners to the closed roads of Altrincham. Whether you’re chasing a PB on the flat, fast course or running your very first 10k, this event is designed to inspire and motivate.
Starting and finishing in the town centre, the Altrincham 10k offers participants a well-organised race with clearly marked distances, supportive marshals, and an enthusiastic crowd. Every finisher will receive a unique themed medal, access to their official result immediately after crossing the finish line, and free event photography to capture the day.
This year’s Altrincham 10k is also proud to support The Christie Charity, the Official Charity Partner for the event. The Christie Charity is dedicated to ensuring cancer patients at The Christie receive the highest level of care and access to world-leading research and equipment. Runners have the option to fundraise for The Christie during registration, making your race day achievement even more meaningful.
