What does running mean to you, and how did you get into running?

I have always been sporty and played everything I could when I was younger!

I have always had quite a good level of fitness and my Mum is really into running so went down to the local athletics club as a teenager and enjoyed the environment, so made it my focus in my mid-teens. Even though my focuses with regards to running have shifted I’m still loving it to this day.

When did you start with RunThrough, what is your role?

I marshalled at the first event in Bushy Park in 2013! Then I was a marshal through University and started doing more and more roles at and around the events, then when I graduated from my Masters in 2016 I joined the team full-time.

My role now is Events & Operations Director.

What do you love about RunThrough?

I love the opportunities that it provides to thousands of people each week.

To bring enjoyment to people and provide the chance for them to do something they love doing! Not just with the events themselves, but the Community there is at RunThrough on social media and everything on offer around the events to ensure that we are as inclusive as possible and have something for everybody.

What is your favourite RunThrough event, and why?

My favourite venue we host in is Greenwich Park, it’s such a beautiful Park with fantastic views of the City, and seeing people tackle the famous killer hill and their tired smiles after the race is so inspiring!

What 3 top tips would you give runners, that you have learnt over the years…

1.Run your own race, don’t worry about anybody else.

2. Come prepared, always allow a little more time for anything that might not go exactly to plan so you aren’t worrying.

3. Enjoy it, sounds cliché but I honestly believe this is the most important part – have a smile on your face and focus on the positives before during and after the race.

What would you say to anyone coming to an event for the first time?

Don’t be afraid to say hello to other competitors or staff. There is always such a friendly atmosphere at the event that we’ll give you the biggest welcome 🙂

What is your proudest moment?

My proudest moment would probably be graduating from my Masters degree, I was really proud with the end result and had a very busy period studying and working throughout the period that I look back on now and am really proud of everything that happened.

What are your current running/sporting goals?

My only Marathon was a disastrous one at London Marathon in the crazy heat of 2018 so definitely have some unfinished business there as I want to get under 2:40 for a Marathon. And I have gotten into Triathlon quite heavily recently after doing the London Triathlon last year and it going really well so want to go again with that next year and improve my time.

What is an interesting fact that no-one would know about you…

I have an unhealthy (literally) obsession with Pick & Mix!
