Consuming food post sessions when you really do not feel like eating can be super difficult. For some of us the last thing we want to think about after a long run, speed\/gym session is a huge plate of food, it can take some time before we are ready to tuck in. Here are some ideas on what to consume when you are not hungry and find it difficult to consume food after a session. When some of us go to the gym we tend to focus on our lower bodies. You may not often think about how the muscles in your lower and upper back and shoulders contribute to your running performance, but strengthening these areas can go a long way in improving your running form and making you a more efficient, faster runner. Take a look at these 6 back exercises you can perform in the gym to work your lower, mid and upper back to improve your posture and arm carriage and help prevent injuries. As runners it’s tempting to think that what we eat doesn’t matter too much because we get to “run it all off”. In truth, the reality is more complicated and it’s important to make sure we are getting certain things right to stay healthy and happy.
\nOne of the keys to physical and mental wellbeing as a regular runner is to eat in a way which keeps our blood glucose (sugar) levels stable. Have a read of our blood glucose fact file and get up to speed on why blood glucose is important for us runners and more!
