Happy Foodie Friday! With the heat increasing, pollen levels have also been high, leaving those who suffer with hay fever, feeling under the weather. \"Hay<\/span>It has been found that some foods can help with hayfever symptoms and can be worth a try. Hay fever can be really hard to continue your runs alongside so finding what works for you is key! \"Hay<\/span>Eating local honey has been found to be beneficial to some. Local honey will contain small amounts of the pollen which causes hay fever. Eating this will help your immune system to cope with it as you are ingesting it in small amounts. Plus, it is delicious too! \"Hay<\/span>\"Hay<\/span>Avoid dairy. Dairy can be a huge inflammatory to the body. It increases mucous production within the body which will only worsen your symptoms. Try non-dairy alternatives such as oat\/coconut milk, soya yoghurts etc. \"Hay<\/span>Eat the recommended 3 portions of oily fish per week. Omega 3 fatty acids found in oily fish (e.g. salmon) help to reduce inflammation within the body, easing symptoms such as puffy eyes. If you do not eat fish, other good sources of omega 3 are walnuts, chia seeds, and can be supplemented through microalgae. \"Hay<\/span><\/p>\n
